Hey, look! Up there, top right... I added a new page with some things to see and do and eat and drink (mostly eat and drink) here in Tours. Since I don't live in Paris, aka The Centre of the Universe, probably this will be of limited interest to everyone, but if you'd like to read a personalised guide to places Gwan likes to go in Tours (maybe they're the kind of places you'd like to go to too?), then feel free to click up there, or here, if that's easier for you.
If nothing else, you'll learn the name of the bar where the old arse-grabber hangs out, and in which club you have the greatest chance of getting free drinks out of old hippies.
Other than writing Tours guides (see what I did there?), there's not much to report. I spent SO much money last weekend, I wanted to have a quiet one this time. All I did, really, was watch the F1 (what a cracking race! Whyyyyy is the season almost over?) and go to a Salon of Organic Wine at the town hall. This was quite pleasant, and I got to add another wine glass to my collection, but I felt quite sick when I got home. I'm not sure why, since I wasn't drunk or anything, but had definite nausea, shaking hands and heartburn. I think my body was rejecting the organic-ness, there's no other logical explanation.
Living in the centre of the universe is great if you're looking for things to do, but the problem for blogging is that someone else has definitely always already written about it. Much cooler to be mistress of Tours' presence in the expat blogosphere!
ReplyDeleteYou're so right!! As Paris bloggers, we totally repeat each others blog posts! I guess we really are dime a dozen!
DeleteGood for you Gwan for being the expat rep in an untapped market!
Ha, I love it, thanks Canedolia! I think you might be overestimating my influence a tad there though.
DeleteElla - not at all, I think the Paris bloggers I follow definitely have different lives and perspectives to share & if you do blog the same thing, it's interesting to see alternative takes on it.
Gwan, Those of us who live in the center of the universe (aka Paris) would like to mention that things must be very different in far away Tours because the tab for "Gwan's Guide to Tours" appears to be on the TOP LEFT side of the page as opposed to the TOP RIGHT. Is this some kind of weird phenomenon like the way that water in a toilet bowl in the Southern Hemisphere flows clockwise and in the Northern Hemisphere it flows counter-clockwise?
ReplyDeleteNow that I'm finished giving you a hard time, thank you for sharing your favorite spots in Tours with us. I have great memories of my "Super Best Ever Tour of Tours" with you last May.
PS. And the only reason I had to give you a hard time is because I spent minutes (yes, I'm blind!) searching for the tabs on the right.
Ha, oops sorry! It's the right-most of the tabs at the top, made sense to me! Although I just did print a note to my neighbours saying that my apartment was on the left when it's on the right, so maybe I'm just directionally challenged.
DeleteThanks, me too. We'll have to go clubbing next time :)
I knew immediately what you meant, so obviously your Dad's right and 'like mother like daughter'! (Sorry bout that!)
DeleteIn a good way though!
DeleteDirectionally challenged? Like mother like daughter!
ReplyDeleteOi!
DeleteActually the "Gwans Guide to tours" looks like it is on the right to me too. Then who am I to talk, nice to know there are other directionally challenged people in the world.
ReplyDeleteIf we want to be pedantic it is on the right side of the tabs on the left of the page, I suppose......had to think REALLY hard about that one. Have to go and lie down now!
Love Denise.
Glad i'm not alone haha!
